The subject “Teach students how to recognize and use conditional sentences”

I. The reason for choosing the subject :General modern foreign languages, especially English has been and will be a basic cultural subjects in the general education program. In high school English program, Conditional Sentences are one of the major grammars in the exams . However, the majority of students have difficulty in using conditional sentences.

So I boldly give some forms of conditional sentences to help students recognize more easily and achieve good results in exams.

II. Research purposes

Conditionals included in the curriculum in grades 10,11 and 12 with other forms of exercises will give different ways.I will give the ways to recognize and practice them in the most effective post.

III. Research persons.

Persons I have chosen are the students in high school students and curriculum standard textbook current program. Students have different levels: good, fair, medium and weak.

IV. Research Methods

Researching, collecting the forms of exercises which relate to the conditions and how to do them. Thereby ,we can evalua of cognition and abilities of students in the learning process.

V. Research Time
Topical studied from August 2016 to April 2017
PART THREE: CONTENTS
Chapter I: Basic of the subject
I always think about how to understand and distinguish between conditional sentences and how to do the exercises related to the conditions to achieve high results. For example: there is no conditional sentences? Must conjugation in the public? Or how to move from the given situation to conditional sentences? That's what I did at that time as well as the pupils now have difficulty in the learning process.
From the difficulties, the experience in the process of learning and teaching, I have chosen the theme "How to recognize and use the terms" do your research problem. Thematic studies when I try to find different types of exercises to introduce students to help them understand and do the exercises.
Chapter II: The real situation of the subject
Thanks to the teaching and the results of the students have achieved, many students understand and do conditional assignments. However, the results are not as expected because their background knowledge is limited.
The results to 10A4 and 10A5 are as follows:
Class 10A4: Good : 8.82%
Fair : 44.12%
Average : 41.18%
Weak : 5.88%
Poor :0
Class 10A5: Good : 15%
Fair : 52.50%
Average :30.00%
Weak : 2.50%
Poor :0
To implement this subject I will address the following related issues:
* Summary and introduction to conditional knowledge
* Types of conditional sentences
Chapter III. The initiative has been used
I. Definition
Conditional sentences ( 2 clauses):If – clause and main clause.
Ex: If you phone me, I will come.
If- clause: If you phone me
Main clause: I will come.
II. Types of conditional sentences
In my opinion, English has two main types of conditional sentences. These are: The conditional statement and the conditional subjuntive.
1. The conditional statement
a.If – clause
Tenses of the verb and adverbs of time must correspond to each other (ie, the same lie on a step).
Adverbials of time
Tense of verbs
Present simple or future
Present simple tense
Present progressive
Present progressive tense or present simple tense
Present perfect
Present perfect tense or present perfect progressive tense
Past simple
Past simple tense
Past progressive
Past progressive tense
Past perfect
Past perfect tense or past perfect progressive tense
Ex. If it is rainy tomorrow,
If I don’t phone him now,
If John is playing soccer now,
If He has been learning English for ten years,
If my boyfriend was in the cinema lastnight,
b.Main clause
 - auxilary : WILL / CAN
 - verb bare infinitive WILL:
+ present simple / future à bare infinitive
+ present progressive	à be V-ing	+ present perfect / past simple / past perfect à have PII
+ past progressive / persent perfect progressive / past perfect progressive
	à have been V-ing
Ex. If it is rainy tomorrow, we will stay at home.
If I don’t phone him now, he will go to Ho Chi Minh City.
If John is playing soccer now, you will not meet him.
If He has been learning English for ten years, he will have spoken this language fluently.
If my friend was in the cinema lastnight, he will not go there again today.
2. The conditional subjuntive.
a.If-clause
Tenses of the verb and adverbs of time must correspond to each other (ie, the same lie on a step).
Adverbials of time
Tense of verbs
Present simple or future
Past simple tense
Present progressive
Past progressive tense or past simple tense
Present perfect
Past perfect tense or past perfect progressive tense
Past simple
Past perfect tense
Past progressive
Past perfect progressive tense
Ex. If I were you,
If I were staying at home now,
If he had been learning English for ten years now,
If we had been Hanoi yesterday,
b.Main – clause
- Trợ động từ: WOULD / COULD
- Động từ nguyên mẫu sau trợ động từ WOULD:
+ present simple / future à bare infinitive
	+ present progressive	à be V-ing
+ present perfect / past simple / past perfect à have PII
+ past progressive / persent perfect progressive / past perfect progressive
	à have been V-ing
Ex. If I were you, I would study harder.
If I were staying at home now, I would be meeting his my uncle.
If he had been learning English for ten years now, he would have got a new job.
If we had been Hanoi yesterday, we would have met our idol.
III. How to recognize and rewrite using conditional sentences.
In this form ,we will give two separate sentences and connect with words such as: so = that's why / because
- so clause is main clause
- because clause is if clause
1.a.Both clause is the future tense,we use the type 1 (not negative)
Ex: I will go there. I will buy you a dog.
=> If I go there, I will buy you a dog.
b. one clause is the present tense and the other is the future or present ,we use the type 2 (both clause is used the negative)
ex:I can’t go out because it is raining.
=> If it weren’t raining, I could go out.
c. Both clause is the past tense ,we use the type 3 (both clause is used the negative)
ex: yesterday he didn’t go there,so he didn’t meet her.
=>If he had gone there yesterday, he would have met her.
2. rewriting sentence changes from without to if:
If clause is used “if. not.”, main clause is uncharged
Ex: -Without your help, I wouldn’t pass the exam.
If you didn’t help, I wouldn’t pass the exam.
-Without water, we would die.
If there were no water, we would die.
3.  rewriting sentence changes from Or, otherwise  to if:
Forrm: Imperative , or + S will + V
→If you don’t +Vo, S will + V
ex: -Hurry up, or you will be late.
If you don’t hurry, you will be late.
4. rewriting sentence changes from But for to if :
But for =  if it weren’t for
ex: But for your help, I would die.
If it weren’t for your help, I would die

PART FOUR: CONCLUSIONS AND IDEAS
I.CONCLUSIONS In the process of teaching English in the school, I have introduced basic knowledge about the conditions for students. For each student is required on different way about the knowledge. For students who are weak I will only cover the basics so they distinguish three kinds of conditional sentences . For students with learning challenges quite well I provide higher knowledge.
So I found most of the students have understand the basic knowledge and applied do test exercises serve the high school graduation exam.
II. IDEAS
When teaching, the teacher should pay attention to the subject, the grammatical structure and each student object to make the appropriate request. Guide students to understand the requirements, but it must be logical. On the other hand the teacher should respect the independence and creation of the students. Look forward to the contributions from my friends.
