Based on the innovation of the teaching methodology of the Ministry of Education and Training on the application of interdisciplinary knowledge, I would like to give some experiences in teaching part C - Listening, Unit 11: National, English 10
Manipulating disciplinary knowledge in teaching is the advanced teaching trend that many teachers have made in practice. As we know, English is a subject that can integrate much knowledge of other subjects. To study English well students need to accumulate the rich vocabulary and get knowledge of numerous subjects so that in teaching English, teachers can manipulate disciplinary knowledge. It makes activities in English lesson become lively and more attracted to students. Moreover, Students will actively learn when they are presenting their knowledge in other areas of study in English. When they want to demonstrate fluently in other subjects and knowledge from the real world, they must strive to learn vocabulary and grammar that can be expressed well, and so they are actively learning English in a fun and effective way. To do well integrated teaching in English requires that the teacher of English spend a lot of time on preparing thoroughly to be able to master the contents related to other subjects. It can be said that integrated teaching in the subject of English is very necessary because it brings good results for both teachers and learners. Furthermore, practicing skills in English for students at Thach Thanh 4 is really complicated because of their poor vocabulary, incorrect pronunciation. Therefore, students are afraid of learning to listen. Being a teacher of English, I always pay more attention to how to help the students feel simple and excited at listening lesson.

Purpose. We have all known that the use of knowledge of many subjects in solving a problem of lesson is essential, which makes learners not only enrich the knowledge from the other subjects but also makes the lesson more interesting. Apart from, this helps students understand and do the tasks perfectly. Interdisciplinary knowledge of Geography, History, Literature, Civic education , music and life skills in Part C- Listening unit11: National parks provide them a brief information about Cuc Phuong national park, culture values of the Muong ethnic group , Nguyen Hue and The battle of Ngoc Hoi- Dong Da. In addition, through the lesson, students will be able to be conscious of protecting nature and the endangered species; be aware of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Muong people; be proud of in cultural identity, etc. Based on the innovation of the teaching methodology of the Ministry of Education and Training on the application of interdisciplinary knowledge, I would like to give some experiences in teaching part c- Listening, Unit 11: National, English 10 Subjects. In my research, I study with 10th grade students who will study unit 11: National Parks. Cuc Phuong National Park is a famous place and very familiar to students in Thach Thanh 4 high school , so it is not difficult to have wisdom about. Moreover, students have opportunity to discover the excitement of the lesson through the games, the knowledge of the many subjects related to this listening class such as: know the songs about Cuc Phuong national park ( Nho ve Cuc Phuong; Cuc Phuong mot tinh yeu); get culture, traditional games and typical food of the Muong ethnic group; know about Cuc Phuong National Park as home to a huge diversity of flora and fauna and so on. From that practical teaching experience, I’ve found that most of the students were very interested in the class and doing the exercises more perfectly. Methods To make my solutions effectively, I have used some following methods: Firstly, I always get advice from colleagues through co- working. Secondly, I apply science and technology in teaching, use projector, video clip to make the lesson efficiently. For example, I use the software which applied to pronounce vocabulary to help students be accustomed to listening to native speaker accent. Thirdly, I study through the internet, use new methods in teaching English such as: using pictures to teach vocabulary, using the bingo-game to check up new words; using some Vietnamese songs about Cuc Phuong, Muong folk song, etc. Next, I often teach English through real situations such as the student can know much about the life, indigenous culture of the Muong; talk more about flora and fauna in Cuc Phuong national park; students can name the well- known epic of Muong people “The Birth of the Earth and Water” in Literature 10 and so on Lastly, I divide the students into groups and ask them to search for information before coming class. Students use maps to find out some national parks in Vietnam to find the location of Cuc Phuong. Therefore, they have to explain why Cuc Phuong is considered to be also popular for being home to a huge diversity of flora and fauna. CONTENTS Theoretical background The purpose of teaching listening comprehension is to help students understand the key information needed. Improving listening skill not only helps students to raise the intellectual activity but also understand other subjects well and vice versa In traditional teaching method, students are introduced to some new vocabulary in tape and do all the tasks that follow and get some information from English listening lesson, which is considered to be successful. In a limited period of time teaching units related many subjects is not easy work because it requires the teacher has a mount number of knowledge of all subjects. Unit 11: National Parks is within the theme of environment and nature, specifically about Cuc Phuong which can integrate a great number of knowledgeable subjects such as History, Biology, Literature, Civic education and life skills. And one of the interesting things attracted myself to study this lesson is this period mentioned Muong people I want to give students the opportunity to study about their cultures . In addition, I am very interested in the attractive tourist destinations as Con Moong cave, Nguoi Xua cave, YenQuang lake, Nui bac and reserves, native villages in Hoa Binh for instance, Van village , Ai village , Lac village and so on. The more information related to my unit I find out, the more appealing I am. Realities before applying the research With the part C in unit 11, I used to teach the students by traditional method that follows Homework checking I. Lead in the lesson & vocabulary - Ask some students to answer some questions in the textbook - Introduce some new words/ expressions that appear in listening text - students practice new words and phrases II. Practice: -Ask ss to do all the tasks ( in textbook): Filling in the gaps & answering questions. - Check sts’ answer. III. Further practice - Ask sts to talk about Cuc Phuong -Give homework: Write a short paragraph about Cuc Phuong National Park. When teaching with the steps above , I realize that most of my students are passive in learning and lessons are less fun for students, even boring. I sometimes explain more about some information related unit but not much because of a limitation of time. Some students are not well- prepared lesson before going to class. Hearing from the teacher also makes students not remember long, so the students’ result is not good . From the above situation I always worry about how to help students not only good skills but also interest in the lesson Solutions In my research, I only mention the new ways in teaching Part C-Listening unit 11 National parks effectively by integrating many subjects in it. I would like to present the form of teaching plan below. Warm - up Teacher shows the pictures and asks some questions What do you see in these pictures?
